"Curly said, 'It is 4 o'clock.' Why did he not say, 'It is 4'? What does o'clock imply?"īuck reckons that if you just say "It is 4," the logical question is "4 what? Four minutes, four seconds, four days?" Sunrise and sunset times will vary according to the seasons of the year."I stopped at Curly's to gas up the other day and asked the time," said Richard "Doc" Jennings, of Idabel. ‘Sunrise’ and ‘sunset’ are the points at which the top edge of the Sun reaches the horizon. ‘Dawn’ happens before the sunrise and ‘dusk’ occurs after the sunset. ‘Dawn’ and ‘dusk’ are also common words when we are telling time in English. You may hear “It’s 12 in the afternoon” or “It’s noon”. You can say “It’s 12 in the morning” or “It’s midnight”. There are two ways of saying “It’s 12 am”. A quarter of an hour is equivalent to 15 minutes. However, it is also very common to say “It’s a quarter past five” and “It’s a quarter to six”. When it’s 5:15 or 5:45, we can say “It’s fifteen past five” and “It’s fifteen to six”. That means we have 20 minutes until the next precise hour, which is 6 o’clock. If it’s 5:40 in the afternoon, we can say: It’s twenty to six. We use ‘to’ to say how many minutes are left until the next precise hour. You can say “It’s thirty past two” or “It’s half past two”. If it’s 2:30 in the afternoon, we have two choices. So, if it’s 2:05 in the afternoon, we can say: It’s five past two. Past is used to say how many minutes have passed after a precise hour. We use o’clock with the 12-hour clock, so “o’clock” would never follow 13, 14, 15, etc. You can say “It’s 10 o’clock in the morning” but you wouldn’t use “o’clock” when telling someone it’s 8:02 in the morning. We use the word ‘o’clock’ with precise hours. Is that what you do? Telling the time in English Nowadays, people are more used to checking the time on their phones. Maybe you don’t wear a watch nor you have a clock in your house. People may have a clock on their bedside table or on the wall in the kitchen, for instance. The word ‘clock’ is used to all the other instruments we can use to measure their time. That’s why Apple calls their product “Apple Watch”. How about the difference between the words ‘watch’ and ‘clock’? Can you tell me what is the difference between them? Well, the difference here is that we call ‘watch’ the object we use on our wrists to check the time. Take a look at the table below: 12-hour clockĭo you wear a watch? Is there a clock in your house? means post meridiem, which means after noon. means ante meridiem, which means before noon, and p.m. Most countries use the second option, but people in the United States, for instance, use the 12-hour clock. We can use the 12-hour clock, which uses AM and PM, or we can use the 24-hour clock. You’re welcome! Methods of showing time Take a look at these two dialogues below. If you need to answer any of the questions we learned above, you should say:

The footage led to the rare occasion when Trump has apologized for his actions. Nothing has to be real,” he said “We have what’s called a liar’s dividend, which is anybody can deny reality.”įarid pointed to the infamous release of the “Access Hollywood” tape in the final days of the 2016 presidential campaign, in which Trump bragged in graphic terms about being able to sexually assault women. “We enter this world where anything can be fake – any image, any audio, any video, any piece of text. Imagined realities and deceptive ads are nothing new in political campaigns. The Republican National Committee released a 30-second ad featuring AI-generated imagery in response to President Joe Biden's official announcement that he would seek reelection in 2024. Therein lies the problem, said Hany Farid, a digital forensic expert and professor at the University of California, Berkeley. After watching scenes of heavily armed military personnel patrolling the streets of San Francisco during a lockdown sparked by surging crime and a “fentanyl crisis,” one person CNN spoke to was left wondering if the imagined episode had actually happened. While some were able to identify that the images in it were fake, others were not. Last week, CNN showed the ad to potential voters in Washington, DC. The ad, uploaded to YouTube, imagined a dystopian United States after the reelection of the 46th president, presenting stark images of migrants flooding across the US border, a city on lockdown with soldiers on the streets, and Chinese jets raining bombs on Taiwan.īut none of the foreboding images in the video were real – they were all created using AI technology. I've been flight simming for almost 30+ years. As a retiree I can devote the time that other devs simply don't have due to their day jobs, family, etc. I am revamping that model to current standards for a freeware release once this project is completed. My brother and I started JazAero originally to market a unique homebuilt design that I concieved and devoloped over 5 years and was completelyl designed and tested in X-plane. The thing of it is, that once I solve this issue I can crank out some amazing aircraft given my background and available resources. Perhaps I suspect Ac3d does not really recognize a "cockpit object"? ACD3D then flags an error saying only 1 texture per object but X-plane says 2 are allowed for cockpit objects. I was under the assumption I could use a second texture in the cockpit over the digital displays for which the geometry has already been created. I then use a single texture if you will that I map to the entire cockpit. which move or should I say follow the data refs and this was for the mostr part the easy part. I have all my cockpit 3-D geometry already created including 3-D gauges needles etc. Cockpit objects it appears do things differently and this is where things fall apart for me I just can't seem to get the hang of the actual nuts and bolts of panel textures used in cockpits draped over 3-D geometry. Normally I would map the texture onto my 3-D geometry and be done with it. For instance I see the cockpit as a collection of 3-D objects. It seems X-plane uses a different naming convention if you will. I guess my confusion comes because I think of objects as 3-D geometry that I create in 3-DS Max. Thank you for allowing me to post this long-winded plea for help. (Any A4 pilots out there? Would like to take it for a spin and offer feedback?) We've gone to great lengths to make sure it flies like the real thing. But is designed also in a modular fashion so if you wanted to run it on aa less capable system you would simply omit some of the eye candy from inside the planemaker menu. This aircraft has some unique features such as a fully modeled scale operating jet engine, internal structures, correctly animated leading-edge slats all hydraulics, and landing gear animations, basically if it moves on the jet it moves on the model, and all done without a single line of custom code, the model itself is high poly count meant for use on high-end systems. I am willing to offer a percentage of sales to the right programmer/cockpit designer. I cannot afford to pay a programmer as I am retired. Excuse me for posting what amounts to a resume but I just wanted to let you guys know I'm not some kid looking for a free handout. I have a background in aviation as a jet engine mechanic I actually worked on A4 Skyhawk's F-4 phantoms in jet school and E2C Hawkeyes In the Navy, I'm also a private pilot (no longer current) and a radio control modeler of over 45 years I also have 30 years of computer background. My Facebook page is Jazaero and I have many screenshots posted their and on Laminars Facebook page. I cannot use blender and I do not wish to relearn when I've invested so much time in 3-DS Max and AC 3-D. I have been doing this for many many years but only for myself I would like to offer this A4 Skyhawk as a payware project because I feel it is that good and worthy of the time spent. This is the only area that I lack expertise in. The issue is when I tried to map one of the digital displays such as a radar I run into the cannot have multiple textures in a single object error in AC 3-D even though as I understand it the cockpit can have two textures. But here's my quandary my cockpit is a true 3-D cockpit with steam gauges driven by data refs, and have no problems so far. I can create just about anything in 3-D and I can animate just about anything in AC 3-D. I have a spectacular model of an A4 Skyhawk in various configurations. I would appreciate if anyone could help me Dealers are encouraged to contact their favorite wholesale distributor for purchasing. Academy / Outdoors / Shooting / Ammunition / Subsonic Ammunition. It is used to indicate that an object is active (or instantiated) during an interaction between two objects. The activation bar is the box placed on the lifeline. It organizes and schedules the interactions between the boundaries and entities and serves as the mediator between them. No two lifeline notations should overlap each other. A Quick Overview of the Various Parts of a Sequence Diagram Lifeline NotationĪ sequence diagram is made up of several of these lifeline notations that should be arranged horizontally across the top of the diagram. Each object has a column and the messages exchanged between them are represented by arrows. Sequence Diagram NotationsĪ sequence diagram is structured in such a way that it represents a timeline that begins at the top and descends gradually to mark the sequence of interactions. Shows different parts of a system work in a ‘sequence’ to get something done. In simpler words, a sequence diagram shows how different parts of a system work in a ‘sequence’ to get something done. They illustrate how the different parts of a system interact with each other to carry out a function, and the order in which the interactions occur when a particular use case is executed. Sequence diagrams, commonly used by developers, model the interactions between objects in a single use case. Sequence Diagram Templates and Examples. In this sequence diagram tutorial you will learn about Among the three, sequence diagrams are preferred by both developers and readers alike for their simplicity. These diagrams are used to illustrate interactions between parts within a system. There are 3 types of Interaction diagrams Sequence diagrams, communication diagrams, and timing diagrams. This sequence diagram tutorial is to help you understand sequence diagrams better to explain everything you need to know, from how to draw a sequence diagram to the common mistakes you should avoid when drawing one. For this reason, it is strongly recommended that users not run badblocks directly, but rather use the -c option of the e2fsck and mke2fs programs. Important note: If the output of badblocks is going to be fed to the e2fsck or mke2fs programs, it is important that the block size is properly specified, since the block numbers which are generated are very dependent on the block size in use by the filesystem. The Fifth Guards was the Soviet strategic armored reserve in the south, the last significant uncommitted armored formation in the sector, with more than 650 tanks. Opposing Hausser at Prochorovka was the newly arrived and reinforced Fifth Guards Tank Army, commanded by Lt. Knobelsdorff’s corps was composed of the 167th and 332nd infantry divisions, the 3rd and 11th panzer divisions, Panzergrenadier Division Grossdeutschland and Panther Brigade Decker, and Ott’s corps contained the 25th and 57th infantry divisions. Although all three were technically Panzergrenadier divisions, each had more than 100 tanks when Citadel began. Hausser’s corps was made up of three panzer divisions–the 1st Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler (Adolf Hitler’s bodyguard), 2nd SS Das Reich (The Empire) and 3rd SS Totenkopf (Death’s Head). The Fourth Panzer Army’s attack on the town was led by SS General Paul Hausser’s II SS Panzer Corps, General Otto von Knobelsdorff’s XLVIII Panzer Corps and General Ott’s LII Army Corps. The Psel was the last natural barrier between Manstein’s panzers and Kursk. By July 11, however, Hoth’s Fourth Panzer Army was in position to capture the town of Prochorovka, secure a bridgehead over the Psel River and advance on Oboyan. On the southern flank, Kempf’s III Panzer Corps, commanded by General Hermann Breith, also encountered tough Soviet resistance. Model’s Ninth Army never came close to breaking the Soviet defenses in the north, however, and soon became deadlocked in a war of attrition that it could not win. Such a victory would have forced the Soviets to delay their operations and might have allowed the Wehrmacht desperately needed breathing room on the Eastern Front. If their plan succeeded, the Germans would encircle and destroy more than five Soviet armies. Konev’s Steppe Military District (renamed Steppe Front on July 10, 1943) was to hold German breakthroughs, then mount the counteroffensive. Chistyakov, and the Seventh Guards Army, led by Lt. To the south, the Voronezh Front faced the German Army Group South with three armies and two in reserve. Galinin’s Seventeenth Army, was to defend the northern sector. The Central Front, with the right wing strengthened by Lt. Rokossovsky, and the Voronezh Front, led by General Nikolai F. Opposing the German forces were the Soviet Central Front, led by General Konstantin K. Hermann Hoth’s Fourth Panzer Army and the Kempf Army, commanded by General Werner Kempf. General Joachim Lemelsen’s XLVII Panzer Corps planned to drive toward Kursk and meet up with Field Marshal Erich von Manstein’s Army Group South, Col. Josef Harpe’s XLI Panzer Corps on the left. Field Marshal Günther von Kluge’s Army Group Center would attack from the north flank of the bulge, with Colonel General Walther Model’s Ninth Army leading the effort, General Hans Zorn’s XLVI Panzer Corps on the right flank and Maj. The Germans’ goal during Citadel was to pinch off a large salient in the Eastern Front that extended 70 miles toward the west. But while historians have categorized Prochorovka as a victory of improved Soviet tactics over German firepower and heavy tanks, new evidence casts the struggle at the ‘gully of death’ in a very different light. The high-water mark of the battle was the massive armor engagement at Prochorovka (also spelled Prokhorovka), which began on July 12. The climax of Operation Citadel, the Battle of Kursk, involved as many as 6,000 tanks, 4,000 aircraft and 2 million fighting men and is remembered as the greatest tank battle in history. Battle of Kursk: Germany's Lost Victory in World War II Closeįollowing their disastrous defeat at Stalingrad during the winter of 1942-43, the German armed forces launched a climactic offensive in the East known as Operation Citadel on July 4,1943. |
